Manganese parkerizing

Post by Sasuke »

Has anyone ever used this? It is what they use to prevent rust on military weapons I believe. Anyone tried it for armor pieces?
Thanks,
Sasuke

I haven't done it myself, but a friend in Michigan did. His armor came out a kind of greenish dark gray, but the rust resistance was obvious. It was more scratch resistant than bluing, by a good measure.
