Whitney punch tooling?

Do I remember someone here posting a link to a company that made "aftermarket" Whitney punch tooling?

Any other likely sources?

I just bought a No. 91 bench press, and I'd rather not pay $50 to $75 per set for the tooling I need.

McMaster-Carr does not carry any shapes other than round for this punch.

I've bought lots of tooling on ebay for my other punches, but goodies for the 91 seem to be a bit rare. Not that a little thing like that will keep me from looking...

some questions that you will need to answer are is it a "W.A. Whitney" or a "Roper- Whitney"? What dies do you want?
I have both a wa and a roper / whitney punch and I googled the company name and found a supplier for both with in two phone calls. another source might be ebay.
I did get both of the catalogs and the circluar punches are reasonable, the oval and square ones were not worth the money for my use.

The punch in question is a WA Whitney no 91 Bench Press (10 tons). All my other punches are Roper-Whitney.

I can order the tooling new from a local industrial supplier, but the prices are premium-as you say, not too bad on the round, but others are pretty steep.

I was trying to find out if anyone remembered the company that made compatible tooling for quite a bit less. The feedbackabout their products, as I recall, was quite good.

I was able to find one "Whitney-compatible" company, but they're in Australia... Good for Aussie armorers, I guess.

I'm also looking for a source for older model tooling. I have a really great deep throat bench punch (Maybe 18" depth, or screw in the braces for a few inch throat with more power) but it is an old model. It's a Peck Stowe and Wilcox (pre Pexto which is now owned by Roper Whitney) model 675 Improved. I'll have to get a picture next time I'm in my shop (probably a couple weeks). The tooling I have is all pretty worn. I have a broken set locally that I can get measurements from, but they're small. The tooling size is similar to the XX but without threads. The punch and die are just seated and held with a set screw. I have thought about trying to turn some out of the right size tool steel round stock, but I'm not sure my tiny old lathe is up to it. I'm also looking for any tonnage specs on it. I'm guessing 2-3 ton based on the throat depth and using it with dull punches. Anyone heard of it?

I did just score a couple of #8's to use for heavy work and most shallow depths (yeah ebay!). That tooling is easier to find.
