Advice needed!

Post by Inigo El Guapo »

My fellow archivers,

I’m in a bit of a pickle. Last year, (around late april/early may), I contacted Mr Junkins, over at Anshelm Arms, to obtain a 12 guage spring steel back point bascinet. I had just started working for a new company, had a sizeable signing bonus, and was in dire need of a new helm. We agreed to a price over the phone, I sent in a check, (it was deposited/cashed in early June), and all was well.

Time progressed, with periodic calls by me, to see the status on my helm. Each call was generally met with “I’ll get to it asap.â€Â
El Guapo: Jefe, would you say I have a plethora of pinatas?
Jefe: Yes, El Guapo. You have a plethora.
El Guapo: Jefe, what is a plethora?

I have never delt with them or heard good or bad about them. I checked out the sight the guy is a member of the KSCA so I would run under the impression he is an honorable person.

He is probably having life issues. I would probably at this point just ask for my money back and then talk to Ironmonger or WMA or someone like that.

Ironmonger makes great stuff at inexspensive prices with an average 10 day turn around.

WMA makes awesome stuff at a good price but he has a wait. He keeps his deadlines tho. If he says 2 months later he gets it to you
2 months later. I don't know what his current wait time is.

I think either would get 100s of people backing them on this forum.

Just my two cents.

That helm has been listed there for many, many months. I've written to the site several time sto enquire about it and never gotten a response. My guess is that it sold a while ago and the page hasn't been updated.

I hate it when that happens.

Nothing derails a thread or terminates the flow of information like it.
