Doin the happy armourer dance!

Post by Prince Of Darkmoor »

Our B3 we bought from Pheylin came in via FedEx on Saturday Image Man is this thing a monster! It dwarfs the B2 in size and is at least 15lbs heavier. I'm sure the FedEx man was a little stunned to see two large bald men racing down the driveway to greet him.

After mounting it, the first thing we did was slice a piece of 12ga stainless. It's scary how easy that was. This means that 10 and 12ga stainless shield bosses and helmet tops are coming soon... Image

Mounting your B-3 is SOOOO much more fun than using it.

I mounted mine over and over again. Until I got it just right. Image Don't worry. I cleaned it off real good before shipping it out to PoD. Hope I did not miss a spot.

Glad your happy. It is in SWEET shape and I was sorry to see it go. However, I did not have a need for it. It sat in the corner collecting dust and that was just shameful of me.

Man...I knew that wasn't machine oil on the blades!

And next time you're mounting your shear, be careful not to let the handle slip and cut something off...

On a similarly perverted note, ever notice that the mounting holes for the B2, B3, and even the cheap B1 knockoff are all in the same place? No matter what shear you're mounting, you never have to make new holes.

There is nothing worse than mounting her and finding the holes are in a different place.

Ya when i went in a fabricators workshop, when i was getting my patterns cut, i saw my first b3 it was huge and had a three foot leaver. I asked if i can cut some scrap on it, he said "shure, go nuts" ANd i took a hefty piece of what i thought was steel and cliped it. Like a warm knife through butter. And that was my first time seeing and useing a b3 beverly shear. It was awsome. Simply awsome. I want one.

The only problem with the B-3 is that it's use is limitted, in an armoury.

Sure, it's heavy duty, sure it's big and heavy and cool.

However, it does not have a very good turning radius. This leaves you with only cutting large rounds and straighter edges.

For what they do, they do it well, though.

Ach,

Billy Joel said it best:

"I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints"

Have fun, Clay
