What helm to buy and where.

Post by Llywelyn »

Greetings,

ok, so I have a friend who is going to get a helm of his own now(getting tired of ugly loaner stuff. Image )

He has about $200 Cdn to spend and his armour is set ca. 1350. He doesn't really have any preference and just wanted me to do some research on types of helms pricing and good people to buy from.

So, I guess my question is threefold. What can I get for that timeperiod? Who would be the best person to buy it from as far as turnaround time etc? He isn't fussy about how pretty it looks as long as it will keep his brains together. Image

I've got a few 13ga s/s round top bascinets in stock which I could let go for that price. They even fit the time period though they really should have an aventail. E-mail me if your interested.

I also know that Asbjorn got a pretty nice great helm from someone here for a good price , and that would fit your time frame as well. I can't remember who made it but I'm sure he wouldn't mind your e-mailing him to ask.

Regards

1350 is too late for the Mac bible helm, is it not?

$200 CDN...that's what, about $40 ? Image Image

Truehearth is up there somewhere. I haven't of anyone who's ordered from there in a while, though.

That's a link to a thread on the Classifieds board, a friend of mine in Saskatchewan is selling an awesome stainless steel 14th century helm. Take a look...
