Opinions about Gauntlets
I've been trying to find a pair of good, protective, light gauntlets for a while now and I've had very little luck.
The only one's I've liked are Mac's spring steel ones... but, yeah, who doesn't.
Here how I define "good":
1. Thumbs don't get squished.
2. Can actually grip my weapon.
3. Fingers don't get squished.
4. Sides of hands don't get all "numby" when hit.
5. Oh yeah, they don't look like spanked a$$.
Soooo... any options? I'm fresh out of ideas.
Thanks!

I've heard great things about both House of the Wolf's and Torvaldr's hardened leather gaunts in terms of protectiveness and if the pictures do them any justice, they look much better than spanked a$$. Also Sir Kippyn is making leather gaunts based on Sir Hadi's pattern that look really nice and should be protective.
I hope this is of help.

If you can stand the prices, Darkheart Armoury www.darkheartarmoury.com makes the best.
At least he damn well better...

If you're short on cash but willing to do some of the work of shaping and riveting yourself, zweihammer has a great kit at http://zweihammer.com/products.shtml.

I will second the House of the Wolf suggestion. One of the guys down here has a pair that he uses, and are 5 years old. All they have to show is a couple of scratches and normal wear and tear. Still hard as a rock, and they look great.
Westerners, we have forgotten our origins. We speak all the diverse languages of the country in turn. Indeed the man who was poor at home attains opulence here; he who had no more than a few deiners, finds himself master of a fourtune.

I use a pair of kydex gauntlets that I got from Egg Armor (http://www.digitalky.com/egg/) and really like them.

Andrew, you've seen my gauntlets from Duke Kelson. You handled them at last St. Paddy's Day Bloodbath. His website is GK Armory. I love them. I've taken shots directly to the hand and not felt more than a bit of a jar.

Next time I see you I'll show you my Zwiehammer kit Gauntlets. Not that hard to make as he gives very good instructions and all of the parts are pre-cut and drilled. (laser cut actually) They are stainless for strong but light gauntlets with more articulation than any other gauntlet I've seen.
