Just finished it.. it's ugly and lumpy and painted but I hope to FINALLY get on the field soon

Wow Klang. That's historical. I think from the old pics. in the books. paintings and such.
Is that brass?

Thanks Hal, it's Sinric's pattern. I did add that spagen strip down the top.

It's not brass. Just some 20ga mild that I attempted to give a gilded look. The pics aren't good enough to see the burnish texture I tried to give it.

Looks great! It reminds me of my first helm, but it looks much better than mine did. Keep up the good work.

I didnt bother to do a whole lot of planishing on it. I figure Motan and Batu will give me a new set of dents as I learn to fight.

Did you ever get to finish your new rig? That yellow and red is going to look sharp when it hits the field.
