Review of Infinity Steel

Post by Ceddie »

I recently purchased a set of Articulated Stainless Steel Knees from Mr. Terry Orton at Infinity Steel. Construction can be seen at:

The communication with Mr. Orton was fast and thorough. He was very clear about the measurements needed to determine the size I would require from his company's stock. The price was the best I've seen on this level of quality in a long time. The total time from my first e-mail on the subject to the armor arriving at my home was 21 days. The packing was great, enough to completely protect the merchandise from the Post Office usual care.

The pieces are cut with a machinist's precision and are matched near perfectly. The articulation is clean and smooth; it allows a range of motion that is just enough to match the bend of a leg. Mr. Orton really captures the feel of the creased knee protection and presents a solid representation of the piece with a nod to modern construction and safety. The cop itself is nicely welded with a good bead along the inside and no "bad spots" that would damage the cloth under the plate. The wing is well shaped and has a good crisp crease. The inside of the knee has a well done demi wing to satisfy even the most fastidious of SCA marshals. The finish is an even satin polish as I requested all edges are finished nicely. It even came predrilled for straps, a bonus I was not expecting.

All in all, I can't say enough good things about the product and the service. I will be doing business with Infinity Steel again in the near future.
