Feet... Need... Armour

Post by Melee »

Well are there any patterns out there? A couple of pics would be awsome, too. Also i have a few questions. One, can u punch or kick when fighting in the sca, lelgaly that is? And two, can u delibratly hit below the knee and get away with it? Thank you.

No punching or kicking. One shot in a few may fall below the knee accidentally, but specifically targeting below the knee is illegal and will probably get you beaten like a baby seal...

There's pics of a few different types of sabatons in the german transitional section of my site.

I'm too lazy to scan the patterns.

There is a pattern for some sabatons in the archive pattern library. You could use those. Making your own patterns is always better though if they work.

Pattern sizing for sabatons must be very precise. A little too small and they don't fit. A little too big and you've got clown shoes. Make a paper one first. Use those little paper split rivit thingies for rivits. The only real dishing necessary is the toe which can be seen without the dishing there.

Once you figure out what you're gonna do I'll be happy to answer any specific questions you've got.

Expect to screw up. I've got more "extra" parts for sabatons lying around the shop then anything elce.

Yeah the scale of the sabaton in the library is off. I think it was drawn on 10 grid paper and it got scaled for 1/4 inch. Just reduce it 50% and its close enough to see what needs to be done.

Melee,

If your looking for full body attacks (i.e. below knees ) and also face punches with gauntlets and baskethilts, Tuchux's do that.
I leave it at that.
