Those are absolutely exquisite. Again, I'll let Homer do my talkin for me.
Torvaldr, the more I see of your work the more a fan I become. Wow.

those are truly magnificent; I am SO looking forward to mine!! I may even get to start fighting again in a couple of weeks (woohoo). Knee surgery turned out to just be a minor orthoscopic procedure with quick recovery. Now I can't wait to get back into harness.

Just have fun and do right by yourself and others.
BEAUTIFUL stuff Torvaldr! I Love my bazu's, but I wish I hadn't been in such desperate need of them and could have waited a bit to have you do some tooling on them as well...oh well, maybe next pair.
The leaf on the shoulders is that the lothlorien leaf from LOTR? Nicely done. What are you using to finish them and keep them hard? Also did you use just an acrylic silver paint or is it leather paint?
Did you dish the elbow or is it natural from the sewing together?

Thanks Thjoren
Torvaldr water hardens, then impregenates the leather with a beeswax/carnauba wax blend. I have a pair of his gaunts and they are excellent.

On the recommendation of several people on this forum, I ordered some basic stuff from Torvaldr, gaunts, greaves and bracers, as well as purchasing some knees and elbows that he had on the shelf. What I have received so far is excellent, and after looking at these pics, I can't wait to get the rest!
Torvaldr - lets see some more pics of other stuff that you have done. You might consider adding a gallery of past work to your website, so people can get a better idea of the level of craftsmanship that you are capable of.
Thank you everyone for your compliments. My website is currently under re-construction and a custom gallery will be included.
I do not want to discourage folks from ordering tooled stuff, but tooling can add considerable time to any order. Up to double the normal construction time. I have psoriatic arthritis so my time to tool is limited to good days for my hands. I try to be upfront about that before I take a tooling order.
On my process. I use water shaping to mold and dish the leather. Oven bake it and them run it through my wax mix, then another oven bake.
For the paint I use either medium viscosity acrylic paints. Or acrylic miniature paints. Especially the metalics.
I currently am a little behind due to the medical procedure I went through last week, but I have just completed 3 orders and have 3 more due out in the next 2 days.
