Can't figure out how to find it via the link. How do you access the Byzantine program?

Not sure on the site - it's apparently a series. They just keep playing the trailer to the Byzantine episode for Monday. It looks cool!

From TitanTV.com:
Engineering an Empire
The Byzantines (New) 9:00 PM, 1 hr
Mon 12/25/2006
HIST 55
Other/Documentary
TVPG, English, 2006
The architectural and engineering marvels of the Byzantine Empire are explored, including a city-fortress wall; an aqueduct; a stadium; and a domed cathedral. Host: Peter Weller.

From the History.com Schedule:

As much of the world descended into the Dark Ages after the fall of Rome, one civilization shone brilliantly: the Byzantine Empire. With ruthless might and supreme ingenuity, the Byzantines ruled over vast swaths of Europe and Asia for more than a thousand years. It was Byzantium that preserved the classical learning and science that would one day give rise to the Renaissance. The Byzantines constructed the ancient world's longest aqueduct, virtually invincible city walls, a massive stadium, and a colossal domed cathedral that defied the laws of nature. Watch with host Peter Weller as we learn how the engineering feats of this great empire would betray them as an ancient light was extinguished in the glare of modern warfare.

Saw the promo this morning too. I'm going to watch it...I probably won't be entirely happy, but oh well, at least it's about the Eastern Roman Empire.

Can someone record it (preferably onto DVD)? I won't be seeing it over here in Oz for months, if not years - if at all.

I'd happily pay for postage & the cost of the DVD (within reason! )

This is the latest episode in an ongoing series. Just a couple of days ago I watched Engineering an Empire: The Aztecs, and a while back I saw the episode on Greece. I am excited to see the Byzantines too. I was really pleased with the last couple that I saw. Very informative, and seems to be pretty accurate.

*sigh*

If it had been an audio-book, I would have siad it was good. Typical History Channel, 85% +/- accuracy (or sorta's).

However...
GOD those were AWFUL attempts at costume.
Shiney pah-pah-polyester! (and that wasn't the worst of it)
Looked like "Colonists" on any Star Trek episode.
:x

Damn buget documenteries.

They threw Basil in (a whole 7 seconds on the giant trebachet) as a 5 min filler.

I was hoping for a bit more. They spent the whole days programing on UFO's and potato chips. I would have loved to see them bundle a few other history programs in with the 1 hour dedicated to it.
