Wool Fabric

Post by Charles the Brown »

I'm not real savy in the fabric department, and need some help. I need to buy some nice wool for a 12th - 13th century outfit, where should I look and what should I look for? Thanks!

The safest bet for wool is 100% wool flannel. Another option is worsted wool. A lot of folks buy suit-weight worsted and wash it a few times to take the shine out and raise the nap.

Denverfabrics.com is my favorite place for wool flannel.
I also skim through the wool section of fashion-fabrics.com every now and then.
(I think I got the URLs right but if not, sorry. I'm at work, I can check later or you can google.)
