looking for a pommel... or the whole sword

Post by MJBlazek »

I am looking for a pommel of this design:

can be found on the Toledo :Sword of Charles (Carlos)V

or perhaps on something else.

Looking for it on the cheap.

Thanks!

Out of curiosity... what are you trying to do with it?

Is it for a rattan waster? Or are you trying to replace a missing pommel on a steel sword?

I love the look of "fishtail" pommels, but that replica.... is not a good one.

Not sure how big it is, but had a cheap wall-hanger somewhere. Think a friend now has it (big yard-sale compilation). Will check to see if he still does. Not sure about attaching it to rattan, as it is a threaded pommel. If he does though, I can sell it cheap.
Westerners, we have forgotten our origins. We speak all the diverse languages of the country in turn. Indeed the man who was poor at home attains opulence here; he who had no more than a few deiners, finds himself master of a fourtune.

If that pommel is flat in cross section (like two flat plates criss-crossing each other), make sure it will not penetrate more then 1/2" into a bar-grill, or it will not be allowed on the field.

I have a beautiful fishtail pommel sword I received as a gift years ago. It would go right into an eyeslot!
