Good Sir -

I have yet to hear from Their Majesties. My knight and I were speaking yesterday about the fine balance between making sure my humble request was received and pestering those whose attention is pulled in a thousand directions at once. We decided that I will attempt again on Monday if I have still heard nothing.

Ld. Wilhelm von Frankfurt, known as rameymj on the archives has generously offered his assistance with the barrier. I am working on getting a herald, my skilled and beautiful sister is finishing my fighting tabard, I have a small flag that we used when we held memorial golf tournements that I will be able to fly the banner. I should be getting my routed tabletop back so I can stain it.

If I can provide any additional information, please do not hesitate to let me know.

YiS,

Dauid

Sir Rhys -

It will be my honor. I have met you on a few occasions, though I would not expect you to recognize me. I had the honor of marshalling one of your Crown list fights a couple years ago along with Duke John and Sir Dante. I am looking forward to my lesson! :)

David,

I wish you luck, honor and strength on your upcoming Deed.

Were I able to attend, I would enjoy the honor of meeting you and helping you honor your sister's memory.

She graciously responded within an hour or so of my e-mail. She offered either to give me eric space or a space off to the side. What do you think is the best place? I don't want to try to horn in on crown (as if that was possible... :))

IMHO, ideally it would be a space onto itself, that is visible from the thrones, such as on the other side of the erics.

This isolates it from the tourney, so you shouldn't have to worry about people doing pickups on that field, but doesn't isolate it from the populas.

YMMV,

You need to have a closing for your deed of arms. You have an intro and the main body, but lack a closing....

Other than that, the entire endevour is exceedingly awesome on your part.

Three knights of the Middle Kingdom are sending a small amount of cash to be used in the sponsorship of this noble deed. Any funds remaining should be given to charity. These knights are-

Sir Marcus von Westphal
Sir Jocelyn de Jongleur

Responded to via PM, but my appreciation to these knights should be known to all. To say that I am stunned and humbled is a poor description.

Dave:

If you are still in need of gauntlets for your Deed, I would be most gratified to loan you mine. I should be at Crown, or at the Monday practices in Burbank between now and then.

Much appreciated. I'll check with my Boss, because I think he is sending gaunts, but if he can't, I would be honored to wear yours.

One of these days, I'll make it back to monday practice. Wife works late on mondays, and I'm not the biggest fan of fighting in the dark... Do you ever make the Angel's practice on Sundays? I was gonna try to make it to one or two of those...

Now that this is definitely definite, I'd love to get a list of the Archivers who will be at Crown who might have the time to come by and cross swords with me. Just looking for a ballpark, so no commitment necessary.... :)

I will be at Crown, and if my other comittments allow, would be honored to trade blows.

Have you thought of posting your notice to the local Caidan baronial e-mail lists? If you would like, I can cross post to the Altavian heavy listserv, FretFights.

I've been working on my closing statement for my deed. Any feedback would be great! I'm not exactly sure what is supposed to be addressed by it, so this is what I have so far:

My Lords and Ladies-

Please accept my deepest appreciation for participating in this Deed of Arms. Although I have endeavored to address each of you personally, I would like to offer two small gifts as tokens of esteem for honoring my sister on this day. Neither gift has great monetary value, but both hold great value to me.

First, it would only be right to show the same generosity that you have shown me. If there is anything that I can do to be of service to you, if it is within my power to make it so, so it will be.

Second, I offer a bit of wisdom received from my sister many years ago, but only recently have I begun to understand its true worth. My sister and I had a saying: "It isn't as though you can do what you truly want to do next life, so do what you want to do now." As a younger man, I believed that to mean "experience as much as possible; try everything; make yourself happy; never settle." I now realize that that is but a small fraction of the words' meaning. I now realize that it means to take advantage of the time we are given with one another to express how we truly feel to those who we hold most dear. My two sons are reminded every day that they are loved, that they are more precious than the most fabulous gems of the earth, the very air that we breathe and the stars in the sky. My wife knows that I believe that she has the wisdom of Athena and the beauty of Aphrodite, that my life would be held cheap if she were not a part of it. My parents know that I honor them and appreciate the generous gifts of life, love, knowledge and a charitable heart. And now you know, my brothers and sisters of Caid, that you are a valuable part of my life, that although I do not see you nearly as often as I wish, that you are often in my thoughts, and my fraternal love for you remains strong.

It is my wish, as a way to best honor my sister's memory, that you will receive my gifts, that you will call upon me so I may repay your generosity in kind, and most importantly, that you will take best advantage of the time you have with the ones you hold most dear to let them know the great import they hold in your lives.

You are an evil, evil man.... :P

I wish I could get up there on Friday, but I have classes. I will be there bright and early on Saturday. I figure I'll leave Burbank around 6:00am

I have something special to say "Thanks" to the Viscondessa, but I'd be honored if you'd have a beer with me when the deed is done.

Thanks for the encouragement!
