High gothic from Illusion (pics)

Post by Le Grand »

Well finally I took some pictures of my kit. I received it in sept. 2002 but never took pictures of it on me. I'll try to get better pics because my web cam cannot do it justice.
It is all made in SS with a mirror finish, 16ga for head bowl, knee-elbow-shoulder cop, everything else is 18 ga. The fitting is just perfect!
As the armory, couldn't be happier with the service I got : 5 months from the first e-mail to the date I opened the box in my apparment :-) got a reply from every e-mails in 3 days or less. Everything was as I expected, and more.
I'm in the process of having me make a more accurate arming coat for this harness, the one I have right now is more 14th century.

I won't be able to afford another harness for a couple of years since I'm still at the university.

29 pictures: be sure to look them all :-)

By the way this harness is not intented for SCA, only for live steel and some larp activities like Bicolline.
Oh and please forgive my English
Thanks!

Thats Beautiful!!!!

Everything looks great, especially the sallet. Very crisp lines and detail!
I would definetly make a stand for that in my living room. Hats off to Illusion.

The page works for me on Netscape. It looks good. I haven't studied the time period enough to comment much. How well does it work for you while fighting?

Mouvement in this harness are just great, of course there's little restriction but this is something to expect in a full plate armor.

Drool! Covet!

How is the fit on the helm? Do you have good visability? How's the rotation of the head? I'm considering purchasing one of these for SCA combat.

Many thanks!

Visibility is pretty for a sallet, I asked for a normal-small visor, but M. Martin can do larger slot for better visibilty.
Fitting is perfect even if the helm look big. As for the mouvement, well the bevor is attached to the helm wich is restricting the rotation bit but still aceptable.

Bicolline is the largest larp event in the province of Quebec, around 1500 persons.

Great looking kit.

My only comment is that the vambraces look just a bit too long for your arms. It seems like you might get some binding once you put on gauntlets.

Please let me know if I'm full of crap.

In a few months I will start on my big armour upgrade. This is actually making it easier for me, since I plan to do LH with it as well.
Thanks!!

Rainald : The way I puted on this day the vambraces was actually way to long, but on my next arming coat I'll have the arms tie a bit higher on my coat.
