I have pockets sewn into the inside my arming coat with removable splints. That way I can have the required protection and keep the look of just the cloth. I can also remove the splints and wash it!!!

I was going to make a kydex back plate that attaches to the gambeson from the inside, for my lady. Either that or what Ceddie does.

I just made longer plates, sort of like what the Churburg #13 has, and made them wrap around the back. The look isn't quite right, but the protection is great.

I have a wax-hardened leather plate that runs the length of my spine - it ties on into the inside of my gambeson. It is lined with fulled wool. It comes out to wash the gambeson. I am making a thicker one.

My belt that holds the cuisses up is a back brace/lifting belt with steel plates riveted to it. It's not visible as it's worn under my gamby and/or maille.

If everyone blocked every shot then what would be the point of fighting? :P 8)
