Helms, Gaunts, Spaulders, CoP, AS IS!

Post by Agentofselection »

Okay, it looks like I'm not going to get to play for another year, so I'm selling off and/or giving back all but one kit. I also don't have time to do any fix-up, so this is very much a fixer-upper sale. Up for grabs here are two hats, a pair of spaulders, and a pair of gauntlets. Buy my gear, fix it, then use it yourselves! God knows I'm not going to.

Coat of plates sold!

Next: a pair of old Stonekeep spaulders. Mild steel, unworn. These are sized for somebody with thicker shoulders/triceps than mine. Spoken For.

Great Helm sold!

Gauntlets sold!

This is a sugarloaf-style helm from James River Armoury/Armourer Eric. 14ga mild, brass cross. The left temple has a number of smallish dents and one largeish crease. The outside has light surface rust. The inside of the visor has fairly extensive surface rust from my breathing on it. Not enough to effect structural integrity, but definitely could use some quality clean-up. This is unpadded, but padded it fits my 23.5" head, and would go smaller well, but not bigger, I think. Spoken for.

Feel free to ask questions, make insultingly low offers, make extravagantly high offers, tell me I left out vital information, tell me my gear sucks, etc. It'll all just make me feel special. I'll take check, money order, and paypal.

Tall/skinny and slightly less skinny are kind of relative terms. Can you pin the COP down a bit closer?

Looking for anything in trade?
Westerners, we have forgotten our origins. We speak all the diverse languages of the country in turn. Indeed the man who was poor at home attains opulence here; he who had no more than a few deiners, finds himself master of a fourtune.

I'm 6'3" 155lbs, chest measurement around 35". Th CoP is too big for me without padding, just right with a nice, medium-heavy gambeson. Somebody with a couple inches narrower chest could crank the straps down another notch or two. Someone with a wider chest could let it out, ooh, maybe 3 more inches and still wear a gambeson, or more without If you put on longer straps, it could be let out further and still cover the ribs. On me, it wraps all the way around and overlaps about one plate on my spine. It would stop covering the spine for someone with a chest of about 37", but would still cover the ribs just fine.
The height of the plates, stretched, is about 20". Fully compressed is about 13". If the wearer's collarbone to crotch is much less than 20", it would be harder to bend forward (removing the bottom plate could buy you a couple inches, but only once, after that you'd have to trim all the side plates, too.)

Sorry, no trades, need cash right now to fund my research (grad student.)

chris: you mean the flat top, painted one, right? If so, it's yours if you want it.

Dibs on the gauntlets if they are as of yet un-sold.
