Another review for Stefhan! - With Pic!

Post by Eyvandr »

So when I got home today on my porch was a box containing some new sword hardware from Stefhan. I have to say that even after handling his products at Estrella, I was even more astonished by what he sent me then what he showed me in February.

He has been a true pleasure to deal with, and I look forward to purchasing more of his products in the future. I will post some photos of the new toy once its finished.

Very carefully... its woven leather and then stitched up the back. It took me 3 times to get it right... and I still am not 100% sure I like it. But its on there and it looks pretty good. My next ones will be better.

That is so sweet.

Hey Stefan. Can you make a set of those with a 1.25" I.D. ? I really like them, but I only use 1.25" shaved rattan.

Why does a Spartan need a Katzbalger?
I say send it over to me. It's closer to my period

Well in this case its because its to be a gift for Ritter Brion of Bellatrix.

But one will go oh so well with the rest of the harness I am building around one of Whitebat's burgonets.

Damn, that is sweet, Eyvandr! Not quite a straight across trade for what you received. But a fantastic thank you to Ritter Brion! If you haven't done so already, you should post pics of your other seax as well, if you want to incite more froth.

Stefan, you have done a great job filling a need, a much requested, long ignored niche. They look great, I wish you the best!
Prost!

Very true that it was not an consolation for the new Sword of State for the Principality of the Mists, but when you get two Laural MASTER Craftsmen to help ya with a project there are few things that will ever stack up. When you have Fionn and Ugo knock out a project... Amazing things are going to happen.

I will get some photos up of the Seax. I gave it away already to Duke Thorfinn when they made him a Hero of the West and I didn't take any pic's of it first. I have 2 more handles just like the one on that seax that I need to do up.

Stefhan I could use two more sets of those. I did have a question though. How hard would it be to change the design on those from 1.25" round to a 1.25" long and maybe like 1" wide oval for the pommel receiver? Or even take the pommel down to a 1" receiver. That would be fantastic if you could arrange that.

Eyvandr and Irish,
Sent you guys a gmail as well but I thought you would like to see these here as well.
Smaller socket size on the pommels. Also a first attempt that turned out halfway ok of katz hilts with an oval shape to the entire pommel.
These are held for you......

And just in case you haven't heard enough good words about Stefhan and his work...

Hilts - Excellent craftsmanship, strong & durable. Look great.

Comms - constant, polite & effective. The hilts arrived (International to Australia) as promised.

All in alll, if I have to buy again, I know where I'll be going.
Cheers

Eirikr
