Auction: Linen/Wool hand woven trim.
For auction: Olive, khaki, and cream colored trim made from wool and linen thread. Measures roughly 4 yards by 1 inch. There are some slight imperfections in the pattern caused by the incredable difficulty of weaving wool thread (it tends to stick to the other wool threads.) A very nice piece overall with muted colors and natural fibers. Click the enlarge button to see detail.
Auction will run through Monday night April 7. Opening bid is $15 US.

How does one secure this to their tunic? Or to be more specific, how would one keep the edge from unraveling if I needed to cut it? I know how to sew, so that is not an issue. Do you fold it under and add more stiching? What about the other side that may not be used for a while? Does that get folded under and several stickes added to it?
Thanks,

I spoke to our weaving guru as she said to machine sew the ends of the entire piece. Then hand wash the trim on cold to allow for shrinkage, though there is usually very little. Cut too fit the garment + a little on each end, fold under and machine sew the ends then sew to the garment. She also suggested washing all garment with hand woven trim on cold and Never dry in dryer.
