http://www.heraldry-scotland.co.uk/index.htm The Heraldry Society of Scotland. This seems like a useful site. On the left menu, if you go to "The Mitchell Rolls," you'll find links to historical Scottish armorials from the 14th century onward.
The modern arms of local Scottish government councils, which are elsewhere on the site, are enjoyable to view. Many of them incorporate historical arms of local towns. Some also have interesting "supporters." For example, some of the Border local government bodies have 16th-century Border troopers as supporters.

Very cool. I wish I could find some info on my family arms per 16th century but such is life. There are two moffet seals on the ragman roll but as they are not upper nobles they typically get excluded from any pictures... I'd love to see if the arms on the seals are similar to those from the 16th. The only pictures I have of them are too small to be sure but one looks fairly close.
