Hi Sasha!

Where/When is the hammer in? I did indeed teach at Gundo's last hammer in. It was a lot of fun because it was like the weekend for armour geeks. Everyone was playing armour. Plus some nice guy (forgot his name) brought something like 7 huge steel balls from a salvage yard.

I just got back from London last month where I gave my presentation at the Wallace Collection Arms and Armour Study Day. That was also a blast, though dragging an anvil and maille through baggage security checks was interesting... Image

My web page is http://www.crosswinds.net/~mailleman and my email address is mailleman@libertybay.com though as POD noted, stephen@madcelt also works (it's just an alias for my mailleman account).

Thanks folks for finding the details.

Steve. I actually sent you an e-mail invite (a bit vague, as first introductions often are)

If you want to follow the yellow brick road of the Oz Hammer-inn, you will find it here
http://www.armourarchive.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002829.html

As an interesting and odd side-note. I have spoken to the local tech-college (which has a "new media" unit) and they are very keen to get involved in the web-cast idea. They are proposing to provide a bunch of cmaeras and the students to operate them 9which may be more of a problem then a blessing...unless they can install them and then operate remotely) Three of the video students also want to turn it into a documentary/"how to" video.

Gundo, I suggest you contact a local college at your end and see if they want to kick up some interest.

I must admit the web-cast idea was just a silly notion, and not one I want to devote too much time to (away fromt he REAL goals of the hammer-inn)...but if it helps people that couldn't actually make it to the event, well, I think it might be cool....so long as someone else needs to tweak the buttons and tinker with the wires.
