Roman Calvary Helm

Post by Drogo the Clueless »

Looking good munitions grade Roman Calvary helm, preferably done in stainless.

Where is a good place to start looking for something like that?

You should ask Dierick here on the archive. I don't know if he is doing them right now becauss he had a few others to make. But he does an outstanding Roman in Stainless. But like I said he may already be doing some. He does very cool brass work on his.

West Coasts locking cheek system is great...and that helm looks good to boot.

Brand makes very sturdy, well-made helmets, but the lines of the Roman cav are just... not pleasing - and I think it is the locking cheeks that do it.

To each his own - and a Brand hat will keep your brains from getting scrambled - that is always a plus.

I have a beautiful roman calvary helm from Sir Brand. Got it a couple months ago. It is ridged, has fixed cheeks and a polished finish. Since I started my own helm and finally made up my mind to do a norse persona,
I could probably be talked into selling it.
It is mild steel 13 and 14 gauge.
Let me know if you are interested and I can send some pics.
I would take $400 plus shipping.

God, I thought I was the only one! I've always thought that the lines of some of the SCA Roman helms running around were some of the ugliest things I've ever seen.

Though I am a fan of this:

We have a Brand Roman in stock. If you are interested, send me your head circumference and I will check the size.

We also make several other designs in Roman helms...

Check em out.
