X-Post: 3rd Annual Iron Weasel Triathlon

Post by Vasilii »

The Shire of Eastwatch is proud to announce that this year will be the third anniversary of the triumphant return of the Iron Weasel triathlon.
Do you you believe yourself to be preux, deadly accurate, gifted with the courtly graces? Then come prove it. In this tourney entrants must fight, shoot, and dance in armor, all while impressing the Ladies gallery. The Wire Weasel triathlon has the same format for our rapier combatants, and the Weasel Pup for youth combatants. There will also be an IKBG sanctioned brewers competition. Last but not least there is the A&S competition "the best Weasel in any Medium" come test your creative mettle against our finest.

Here is the link to the event web-page:
http://eastwatch.org/weasels/

This is the third year we have done this and it just keeps getting better, if you are looking for a fun, simple day of all the best reasons to come out and play look no further.
Respectfully, Yours in Service,
V VZs-

You do know of course that it is the sixth "Fun with Weasels" event ;) (Three done by the previous incarnation of Eastwatch, three by the new incarnation of Eastwatch)

Seriously folks, this is a fun event! And the A&S competition has to be seen to be believed... Peitro's "Weasel with a Pearl Earing" last year was drop dead gorgeous. And the "Documentation" was extra fun. :)

Your Excellency,
Thank you for the ringing endorsement. I did not know how many times our predecessors held this event, so next year we will be in uncharted territory  .

and now for a shameless *BUMPAROONIE*

If you want I can tell you the story about how we came up with the name 'fun with weasels', four little ceasers' pizzas, two six packs of guinnes and a phone call that began "hello, is this the autocrat for 'fun with weasels'?" "yes it is, can I help you?" "You're not using live weasels are you?!?!?"

Johnathon, We would LOVE any old Eastwatch/Weasel's history or stories you would be willing to share. I was in the "first wave" of new folks into the Shire after it formed, but I had moved out of state by the time weasels came about. I hope you can make it to the event, it would be nice to put a face to the posts.

People should look at the event website just to marvel at Pietro's weasel drawings.

not much chance of it, but could somebody enter an item in the A&S without being there?

I'm just curious.

Sure, but how would we get your entry back to you? The A&S competition is one of my favorite parts of this event it is all tongue in cheek, but Pietro has set the bar quite high for anyone who wants to unseat him.

Frieman, I am one of the Hosts ( I am trying to wean my self off the *autocrat* thing) of this event, if you would like to enter something I will gladly give you my mailing info and make sure it is entered for you. I will also get it to whomever you request afterwards.

Yeah, Frieman, for the A & S, bring it on.

I have decided that if I manage a three-time win this spring, I'll retire from the competition for a year to allow the timid to emerge from hiding.

So if you're unsure of your Art Fu, you can wait 'til the coast is clear.

[insert best Vince McMahon voice] Ahhhh yes there he is folks the 2 TIME, 2Time, 2Time Iron Weasel Triathlon A&S competition WINNER!!!!!!!!
Are you man or woman enough to wrest his title away from him????

On a more serious note, Your Excellency may I link that picture to our web site? Unfortunately all of the "official" pictures from last were not given to the Shire and we are on the hunt for more.

Alas it isn't my photo to give permission, Vasili, but it is on a publicly accessible web site (Flickr), I doubt the photographer would mind if you linked to their album.
