Looking for sources

Post by HannibalHulvey »

Does anyone know of any books in English or translated to English with details concerning the War of Thuringian Succession 1247-1264. Specifically looking for info about the Landgraviate of Hesse gaining its independence.
Thanks

What results did Googling any of these terms get you?

Google mostly provided information about the people and events leading up to the war and its ultimate result. Howerver, I was looking for more detailed info concerning the war itself. Escpecially, the events leading to the independence of Hesse which transpired at the very end of the war. It may be that the only documents available give very few details. I was hoping that someone here might lead me in another direction.

Unfortunately, you might have to go digging in foreign sources and get help with translations.

This might be of use. There are footnotes at the base of the page.
