A few reviews long over due

Post by Syrfinn »

Have gotten a few things the last couple of months, that I need to do reviews on. :)

Icefalcon Armory - Bought the following, 12 ga SS Totenkopf helm, XL Blackened SS Rivetted Hauberk and Blackened Stainless Coif.

Helm - Works grean and love it. Its nice having a very sturdy helm back on my head. Looks awesome. Just have to do a few more adjustments and will be good to go. Needs a few more breathe holes. Just has 6 holes on the right side, need to put some on the left also, and also try to come up with a good pattern for both sides.

Chainmail - Fit great, and looked good. Unfort, had to sale both, due to some circumstances. Will end up buying another shirt sometime soon. Only complaint, and has nothing to do with Icefalcon, but has to do with the folks putting the shirts together, is that a few, and I mean just a few, were mild steel not stainless. But thats easily fixed.

Windrose Armory - Got 2 shields from them. Both are their shape 11 heater. One is longer than the other though, for me to use in war, and the other for tournies. The tourney shield I had them do the canvas covering. Was very nicely done. Both shields I asked for a deeper curve, than normal. Both shields came out excellent.

Stonekeep Armory - Plastic knee cops - Just got them. A couple of crimp spots, due to what looks like from getting them from the mold, not exactly sure, but since it goes under, doesnt matter. They are perfect for what I need, and already have them sewn on to my knee pads and fit like a glove. Love them.

Thats it.

All 3 had great communication, and well will always do business with all three, or send others their way. Great to work with.

I have a question if that kosher...

Do you think you could snap a pic of the plastic cops while your wearing them ??

I want a set of them, arms and knees, but I would like to see some pics of them on some folks before I buy em...

Not offense to Stonekeep, I am just picky...

Sorry to harass you SyrFynn, you just happen to be in the wrong place, wrong time..

No offense taken, But...
You never buy our armor if you are a very picky buyer.

We are about speed and price.

Esp. on something like this that I am only making as a hidden item noone should ever see. You would just be wasting your time. Id suggest Alchemy Armoury.

Stonekeep,

you do yourself an injustice, I have made several purchases from you, while the price and service were top notch, the quality was too, I have seen nothing of yours that was not attractive, functional, and affordable

I have opinions of my own- strong opinions- but I don't always agree with them.

Honestly, dont have a camera with me to take pics. Plus a bachelor, so no one to take the pics. But can say I bought E size I think, and they fit perfectly. Wore them at Crown, under my gambeson cuisses, and they fit like a glove, and almost forgot I had them on, they are so nice and light.

Will definetly be using them for both my 13th cent kit and my early period kit.

Actually mate, when I talk to new folks I send them your way.. You seem to have the trificta down for basic starter gear.. Speed, quality, and great prices..

I asked for pics because I want to see what I am buying.. As I said I meant no offense..

I have bought stuff sight unseen and while I wasnt disappointed, some more pics may have swayed my decision.. Hence I was hoping for some shots of these on a fellows knees, to be more precise..

I apologize if I offended, it was not my intent..

First: Thanks for the nice comments guys!

Kormakr: No not at all! Just letting you know we are definitely not the Best at plastic. Egg or Alchemy are the top places to go for plastic. Someone just posted that they just couldnt get plastic cops until like Sept. and I remembered we had made a pair a while back, just didnt figure there was a need. I think we put out about 40 pair this week but they havent been added to our instock yet. All in white though, cause I am pretty funny about that..

These would be great under a white linen tunic. I'll probably order two pair of elbows as soon as you post prices and ordering info. I have become disenchanted with my hardened leather elbows.
