Don't.

As a general rule coffee table books are not known for having good texts so if it doesn't have good art work from the period it isn't worth the money. Flip through the book and see how much of the artwork is medieval and how much of it is modern, typically 19th century or produced specifically for the book. I'm pretty certain that book has a lot of modern art in it and that is why I did not buy it.

A friend just gave me a copy of this book (his heart was in the right place), and I've only had a chance to glance through it quickly, so I can't vouch for the text. Almost every third page is a map (it is after all, an atlas), and the pictures are about 50/50 contemporary artwork and victorian schlock. There are several photos, some full-page, of armour from the RA. One good is a maximailian armour, another the model of the Churburg 13 by Peter Wroe. However, I don't know if these few photos make it worth buying this book. Then again, there are those maps...

For a good Coffee table type book with alot of illuminations of around the 1250's. I recommend the Maciejowski's bible, a beautful book it is.
