Duke Eisfalke (Icefalcon Armoury) Maille review

Post by Sixtus_Goetz »

Ordered an XL Blackened SS shirt and 2 cut down rattan staves on the 13th of June. Called His Grace to verifiy availability of shirt, told the would be in, in a few weeks. Place an order online. Recieved the Rattan w/i 4 days on my doorstep.

Communication during the shipment of the Maille has been great 5*'s. kept me updated and even with a minor communication issue (basicaly thinking i was someone different ;) ), called me at work to get everything sorted.

Maille itself,

Yep, has that grease film on it, but not as bad as Syr Finn lead me to believe. Almost like a fine layer of chalk that wont come off to easly. Did the Simple Green cleaning to satasfactory results.

There were numerious ( about 12 ) or so rings that either were not peined at all, missing rivits, miss-punched, or broken. I did go over it fairly well so a quick QC glance over may not have seen them ( obviously ;) )

Product 4.5 *'s (mind you, this is some perty stuff)

all in all, again 5*'s.

I've givin Duke Icefalcon thousands of dollars over the years ( Pavilion, Maille, other odds and ends ) and I'm fairly picky.

Cheers

How many times did you clean it? Just curious. I did it 4 times, then oven, and I can put it on, and barely any oil residue on me when I take it off.

Also have to remember, my first shirt, I put it on right out of box, cause I didnt care about getting dirty, and had to take a shower. Thats why I said clean it first. :)

Cleaned it 4.. no oven... dont want a burnt oil smell in muh place ;) The Simple Green was WAY more then enough ;)

Just a little bit of residue. Water was mostly clean rinsing. Little bit of grime will add to the period appearance, right next to the TI legs and AL churburg :P

Yer gonna let me borrow it right?

No...

really.

Only for like 10-15 minutes while I take some measurements with it on.

Or you know. You could just give it to me.
It looked better in my head....
Damnit.

Rather than a new thread, just gonna piggyback here.
Couple weeks ago at the Feast of St. Joseph one of my boys wanted to pick up an aventail from his Grace. The original thought was maybe aluminium but after some discussion he decided to look at the mild one instead.
Went to get she who monitors the checkbook and buy it from Icefalcon but the hootch was packed up.
Sunday Maddog placed an order online. Tuesday it arrived at his doorstep.
Dishwasher attacks mail, We go over it and everything is fine, I tell ya just fine.

Even though I didn't make this purchase, I would give it 5 of 5.

I can't wait to see pics of your kit with the new shirt. When can we expect those? :)
