Living in the Past 1978

Post by Fearghus Macildubh »

Found this on youtube. A BBC series from 1978 about trying to live in the Iron Age. This was a kind of "Where are they now" show. http://kr.youtube.com/watch?v=2e7ZLWz3UMw

And full of whining hippies. ;-)

I remember it first time as well, as an experiment it fell foul to the lack of real experience of the people undertaking it. Eg, the young woman who claimed that they could not have reaped corn with sickles because it took her ages and hurt her arm.

But interesting in how social groups interact with a preconception or two thrown in.

Yes and children still think that milk and eggs come from supermarkets

I think there are a few hippies on here too :)

I had a friend, he used to say, 'I'm no Hippie, I like violence' !
