Post by Vitus von Atzinger »

This is Zweihammer's dagger scabbard and hand-dyed belts. By tomorrow all will be finished.

Wow Sir Vitus, that chape is awesome. It looks like the Hoplite sword chapes, or the winged La Tene or Hallstat chapes

Very nice!

There is a small plate that he is to center on the small of his back. The scabbard is attached by hoops to this plate. The right-side loop is smaller to offset hang that the weight of a hilt may bring. The belts were left long so that he can cut them himself.

This piece was a bitch. Dying those little squares with baby paintbrushes was a nightmare.
I tried to give the man what he wanted...

I feel ya brother... When I did the handle for the dagger I first tried to do a true basket weave like I did for Sir Brion of Bellatrix, but decided that cutting and then painting the squares made way more sense in this case. It was a total pain in the butt...

Also not sure if you heard, Erik is getting honored with his Laural at our Purg here in another month or so.

Damn, that is fantastic!

That is going to look so sweet against my new wool 'Rock from Sophia_K. You have done such a great job, Vitus, I truly appreciate it. I look forward to introducing it to Eyvandr's work. Will definitely post pics when all is said and done.

Wicked sweet, Sir Vitus.

I can't wait to gack people!

I told myself I wasn't going to cry.

Sniff.
Prost!
