Was it King's Lance who had it up for auction? If so I bought one of these too. It's out getting a bar grille fitted to it. I haven't padded it yet but looks to be JUST enough room for 1/2" of required padding. I'll post a pic when it gets back from Alail.

Too bad about the helm because that's a nice looking kit you're putting together.

Yeah well...

My adopted brother...he is Korean...not really important, but he was left on his back as a baby... the back of his head is flat as a board!

I think it would fit him, but he is like "Getto" He thinks he's a hood or something...so he wouldn't try it on...thought someone might see him!

This is the same kid that used to beg me to play D&D and Battle Tech!

Sigh...

I took the face plate off and it makes a nice display on my armour stand, but I would prefer it was on my head!

I thought trolling meant trying to start a fight, or something like that. What I did was just abuse. Therefore, it could not possibly be trolling, (Fred G. Sanford: ON) you big dummy.

If you hold only the face plate up to your face, does it sit correctly on you.. Do the eyes and chin lign up right? If they do, for a quick fix I'm sure you could find someone to bang out a skull that will accept the face plate and fit the back of your head properly... It seems like that's where the big problem is. On the othe hand if it's not worth it then- it aint worth it.

Drake - if you're still looking for a dressy bascinet, I have one of these 17 gauge bascinets from the Czech Republic on hand:

It's not a $50 piece, bit it will fit a human head Image and you may be able to fit your Indian-made pigface to it - if you're interested drop me a line and we can talk ...

Sorry Therion your prices are a little high for my unemployment budget.

I have always been a firm believer that you get what you pay for...even if you are paying for something that is inexpensive that is advertised as being a certain size you should get that size. Yes, the finish material and other qualities will probably be substandard, but that is what was probably paid for.

If this helm does not measure to the advertised size from the ebay auction then you have a couple of actions - contact the seller and ask for prompt refund - if that fails, contact your credit card immediate and file a dispute on the charges and have the funds removed from the seller's account - make sure that you ship the helm back at your own cost with insurance, tracking, signature confirmation and keep photo's of the packing you did to cover your keester on the return. File greivance with E-bay and leave feedback on sellers feedback forum for others to see.

Remember though, you got the quality that you paid for - you cannot dispute this, however, make sure that the size on the auction description indicates what you thought you were buying...if it is not there you are SOL.
