Historical Combat of Teams with Polehammers?

Post by Aaron »

Hi,

Could you do some research for me?

Somewhere in the texts that are still boxed up in the house somewhere, I know I have a reference to teams of cap-a-pie fighters having sporting fights with polehammers.

Please help!

The 14th Century Challenge of Thirty fighters can’t be the only ones that can have fun at Pennsic! I feel left out and I know there are other cap-a-pie fighters out there who would go for this!

I’m working on a Pennsic idea…
With respect,

-Aaron

Well, perhaps not what your looking for but if I remember it right I think I read about team fights with polehammers (or rather pollaxe or some similar weapon) in this arma-article about Jacque Lalaing: http://www.thehaca.com/essays/Lalaing.htm

Maybe that incidence was more of a team duel than a sporting event though. Anyway an interesting read.
