Just stumbled across a promising site: British History Online (http://www.british-history.ac.uk/Default.aspx). It includes a number of medieval and Renaissance-era records. Much of the material is free; some is available only by subscription.
Any reviews from people here who are already familiar with the site?

Hi Flittie,
I think it's a good source, it depends on what you're looking for as far as records are concerned. These can range from cases of stolen goods, to punishments meted out, and various other records like the occasional will.
