Murdocks sexy knees

Post by bkillian »

I said I would post a pic of the spring knees I got from Murdock after I got them mounted.Well here ya go.Sory for the quality of the pic, it's from a cell phone. In a word awesome ala mode. Took a shot directly on one of them from a new guy that thought the fun thing to do would be to see how hard he could the fat guy in the knee. All I said was low.No pain, no dents :) The transaction with Murdock went smooth as could be. I will be doing business with him in the future for sure. I blued them with some liquid blue from wally world. The cuisse's are from G.D.F.B. by way of Therion A&A.

I hope you had a talking to the newbie about that.....I had a guy do that several times, but he just didn't have the body mechanics down of getting the rise out of a shot.....Thankfully I had some demi-greaves attached to the knees I have...Could have been really painful.

Have similar knees from Mattmaus here on AA and the same gamboised cuisses....How are the shots to your thighs with them on? Been thinking of making some splinted cuisses to go over the GDFB padded ones to help out...

They hurt  so I block allot :D

I would recommend adding something to them. Either point a cuisse directly to them like in the effigies or add some padding to the inside. Or even just reinforce the thigh with some leather from the inside to maintain the look.

I am planning on making some splinted leather covered with some nice fabric...Just not sure what kind to use...Doesn't need to be too fancy, but I've seen some I thought were covered and I like the look.

My knees I'm covering with leather and doing my heraldry on either side of them(the border will be covered with brass with a piece down the center crease) should look really good when I'm done...Just can't afford the mail to finish the look right now...Pesky lottery doesn't let me win....

how are the padded quisses working out? I have a set to.

can you bend your knee sufficiently with them strapped all the way down?

I love them.I have no problem bending my legs. If you notice I removed the lacing on the back of them and replaced it with straps so they fit my leg better, and it provides a bit more flex.
