Drachenwald champion tourney - results

Post by Oliver »

Drachenwald champion tourney was held last weekend at Nibelungen war. I have to say that I have never saw such an great tournament with so much skills and prowess on same field. Fighting was hard but clean and it was great entertainment to watch. Every fighter did well and deserved great honour for themselves. Format was round-robin and avery match was best-out-of-three. There was seven fighters attending to the tourney and one bye-fighter. Here are results for first three:

Winner was Duke Prothal Wolfsbane without losing any round.
Second was Duke Alaric of Bangor
Third was Baron Ivan the Bastard

I'm waiting for next year, this tourney was so great. Thank you for every fighter who attended in tourney.

I have to agree with Oliver. I have never seen a tourney in which the level of fighting has been so consistent troughout. Everyone was evenly calibrated and of even skill level and it really showed that they were all seasoned fighters.

As a spectator and a squire trying to learn, this was an experience I will treasure for a long time. In my opinion, this is one of the major fightingevents in Drachenwald, for participants and spectators alike. A must for anyone with an interest for heavy fighting. Talk about porn for fighters :)

Can't wait for the video.

The most amazing thing is, as far as I know Prothal hardly ever gets to practice....

No the most amazing thing was that the final never happened. The field was yielded to Duke Prothal in recognition of what he had done to get there without loosing a single bout.

Was a great tourney to fight in.

A lot of us competitors were a bit worried about calibration beforehand, but it went really well. Clean, hard fighting and everyone had a lot of fun . I'm really looking forward to the next one and surley hope that I'm invited again, and I know that I can do better...

Baron Alexander has most of the tourney taped. He is missing the last 10 minutes due to camera failure, but I know he will try to get the fights from other people. Once he is done editting he will put it on the net.

This tourney really made me want to go out and practice more. I really want to be in it the next time! :D

Cool, can't wait to see the video. I thought Alaric was good but Prothel must be amazing.

Honestly both Alaric and Prothal were in a league of there own. There is just something about theit fighting which makes them unbeatable.

This was a fantastic tourney to watch and I hope there will be more of them throughout Drachenwald. (especially since I was unable to participate!) While it had the potential to become a rhino race, it never did. Everyone fought honorably, well, and with great joy! Vivats to the squires who pulled this together!!

Of course it never became a rhinorace, the Knights knew that the squires were watching!

And I agree, Kudos to the squires that made this happen.
