Yes, you posted about Kasper's qualifications, but not mine. I read this as taking sides. If you were trying to not take sides, then I submit you would have at least mentioned my qualifications, and my reasons for not posting the photo. Completely ignoring someone else's point of view is an insult of omission.
Since you just posted them I assumed people could read them for themselves.

I'm guessing at that price someone believes it is real! Yikes!
I really was not trying to take sides in that thread. I really wanted to discuss the bascinet not copyright. Since you posted the info starting the thread I assumed you wanted to discuss it too. If I was wrong and your intention was to discuss copyright issue I am sorry. I must have misunderstood. I provided Kaspar's info because you asked for it.
Kilkenny had provided your qualifications as a librarian and I thought I could end the side track by providing Carlo's. My thinking was, here we are two guys who should be knowledgeable who disagree, now let's move on.
I must honestly say, I think your accusation of me was way over the top and uncalled for. I think your tone in relation to me was defensive and harsh. I believe you were reading things into my posts that were never there at all.
I am stating this for the record. I never meant to attack you, judge you or take sides. I have always found you to be knowledgeable and reasonable. My treatment in this thread was a great disappointment. If I offended you by omission or through some other means I apologize. It was never my intention to do so.
So what were the reasons given that it was a fake? I have not gotten to look at this piece in person but the irregular shape looks very much like mid to 3rd quarter bascinets in artwork? Just looking for some info on why it was carded as a forgery.
Chef,
Did Ian give any insight into Randall's question when you had dinner? ( I realize this particular bascinet was probably not the whole subject of your evening )
I emailed Michael Hall, editor of "Apollo." His response:
Dear Mr Blowney
With advertisements the copyright situation is usually straightforward – the copyright in images is the advertiser’s, and if you want to clear copyright you should contact them. I’d be surprised if there were to be any problem. With editorial features it’s best to ask since each article can be different. I’m always happy to help with any queries you may have.
Anyway thank you very much indeed for your interest in Apollo!
Best wishes
Michael"
So, there's probably no problem, I honestly, I think it's best to check.
