FS: Armouring stakes

Post by Cat »

Sorry for all of the posts. I promise I'm about done.

Up for sale are 4 armouring stakes, which I believe were all made by Halberd's, with the possible exception of number 4.

Stake number 1 SOLD - SHIPPED

Stake number 2 SOLD - SHIPPED

Stake number 3 is slightly domed, and measures about 2" x 2 1/8" . This also has the threaded base meant to screw onto one of Halberd's pipes.

$10 plus shipping

Stake number 4 SOLD - SHIPPED

Thanks,
Cat

Wow Cat. You trying to raise tuition money or just cleaning out the house?

I'd hate to think you were getting out of the game. You do such nice work!

Heya Sean,

Thank you for your kind words!

I'm afraid that I AM getting out of the game. I plan to go back to work (somewhere...anywhere..), and won't have time for this any more. I may, at some point, be inspired to do this again. Since all of this can be replaced, I have no problem letting go of it now. None whatsoever...could care less, actually, but that's another story. :)

Thanks,
Cat

Hi Cat,

Dang, I am sorry to see you closing up shop.
After that last spangen with etching you built I thought the sky was the limit.

You really have been an inspiration to all of us.
Everything you made was first class all the way.

If you have trouble selling your tools I will buy them back.
Did you ever sell the coif with the pointed daggs, that was one sharp looking unit?

Best of luck,

Hal

Ps: Perhaps you can look for a job teaching arts and crafts at the community college?
Metal and leather work.
You certainly are qualified in my book.
I would be honored to be a reference.

Hal,
I am very touched. Ya know, in alot of ways, if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have gotten to do half of this stuff. You took a chance on me when I was brand new, and traded me lots of tools and armour kits. Most of the time, I think you got the short end of the stick, too.

You have been very supportive and encouraging to me and most everyone here. I will not forget.

Thanks so much!

Jentien,
It looks like the Priority Mail flat rate box would be the cheapest way. The Flat Rate price is $9.30. Insurance for $25 would be an additional $1.70 if you chose to insure it. I would pay for tracking.

Thanks,
Cat

Sha-ul,
You are very kind, and I appreciate it very much!

Although, I think you'd be surprised at how LITTLE I actually know about leather and leather working. :) I think the interview at the college would probably go rather badly. "Well, I don't know what THAT is, and I don't know what THIS is for, and I've never used that before, but I made this." :) I think they would probably suggest I TAKE the class instead of teaching it. :)

Thanks again!

Well, my scale doesn't go over 7 pounds, and this weighed more than that. It would be $55.50 if it weighs 8.5 pounds, or $51.75 if it weighs 7.5 to 8 pounds. Plus, since it's an international shipment, I cannot add insurance or tracking to it.

I would have to take it to the Post Office to get an official quote.

FedEx and UPS were both well over $100.

If you are still interested, let me know and I will takeit and get it weighed and get back to you with the cost. (I will need your address, so you can PM me that.)

Hi Cat,

International shipping in the flat rate USPS box is around $32.00
As long as it does not weigh over 20 pounds.
The ball stake will fit in the long flat box.

Hal,
Thanks for the info! I didn't have one of those boxes, and I figured it wouldn't fit since it was so long.

Es02, I will check on the Flat Rate price and get back to you.

Thanks,
Cat

Ok, I checked USPS, and they list two prices for international flat rate shipping - a large flat rate box, and a regular flat rate box.

The "large" flat rate box would be $49.95. The other one they listed was $38.95.

The large flat rate box is 12" x 12" x 6". The stake may fit in that one if I put it in diagonally, but I will have to get one of the boxes to check. This one would be $49.95 to ship.

There are a couple other boxes listed as flat rate, but I would have to check to see which one they were talking about.

If you are interested, I will go to the post office and see if I can figure this out.

Let me know.
Thanks,
Cat

Es02,
I went to the Post Office and got one of the flat rate boxes. It looks like it WILL fit into the box that was $38.95.

So, shipping would be $38.95. Let me know ASAP if you want this.

Thanks,
Cat
