New helm.

Post by cornelius »

Hi all-

I have a new squire who is insisting on doing the Viking thing (sigh). Any way he really wanted a helm like the one from Hammered Wombat.
So he is my blatant rip off someone else's very cool helms (apologies for doing the copy thing but the Hammered Wombat stuff is VERY VERY cool).
I forgot to do the chasing on the nasal so it looks a bit too clean. I may redo this after Crown.

Looks good! It too think the Wombat would be proud.

Nice job cornelius!!!!
Do you have any pictures of it being worn? I have made two helms with faces (attached) so far and getting them to look proportinate to the body is a challenge. The first(my favorite) rather looks like a "bobblehead",so I spent an enormous amount of time on the second to have only minimal tolerances (SCA). It turned out much more proportionate but being a "slip on" helm (without moving cheekplates) there is only so much one can do.
Thanks and keep up the good work,(and pics).

It is very good indeed. I really like the nasal. It looks mean.

Hi,

Yes I will be there. If everything goes well I should be in the new 14th century German rig too.
