need a source for Rawhide

So whats the best source for rawhide? I would like to try edging the shield with it but have no idea where to pick it up. any help would be appreciated.

PetCo, or the equivalent. get the biggest rawhide bone you can find - in Massachusetts, i've found 14" ones.

get the american made stuff. I advise against the bacon-flavored kind, unless you want dogs chewing on your shield.

soak it in warm water until it's pliable but not too too slimy, tease the knots at each end apart, cut strips, nail or sew or whatever to shield, and remember that rawhide shrinks as it dries.

there are many opinions about what the proper order of materials on the edge of a shield should be, so i'm keeping my undereducated nose out of that part :)

Tandy Leather has rawhide by the sides as well
some of their stuff is so thick it would be bomb proof
