I'm looking for a good documentation and period/location for cuirass style armour.

Thanks....I'll also be looking for thick@$$ leather.

I'm looking for something along the lines of the (Turkish) disc armor on the silk road armoury website.
Basically just 4 plates on a gambeson. Really simple, just want to look for details.

Sounds like you're talking about char aina ("four mirrors"). Try searching for that name. Never heard of it being made from leather, though...
