First I would like to thank Angusm0628 for giving me some sign metal, and allowing me to use his shop last weekend. I had made a post looking for cheap aluminum, and he selflessly donated them to me.
Second, being a full time engineering student, I don't often have much time to work on any projects outside of school, so I was able to take these past few days to hopefully rid my kit of any plastic armour.
First, here is a coat of plates based on one of the Wisby plates that I used the metal that Angus gave me.

Here at the new splinted leather legs that I made, as well as two curious cats.
<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v407/etoniichuan/?action=view¤t=IMG_1873.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v407/etoniichuan/IMG_1873.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
I dished these knees myself, and while I know there is room for improvement, this will be the first metal piece of armour I have made and will have worn on the field.
<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v407/etoniichuan/?action=view¤t=IMG_1874.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v407/etoniichuan/IMG_1874.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
And lastly, I had decided on a new device a few months ago, and the only piece of gear that I had that reflected it was a shield experiment that had failed. I don't really know how to sew, so most of the things that I have sewn are mostly utilitarian. Well with the help of four dvds of Firefly and a sewing machine that is older than I am, I managed to make a fair tabard, shown with my failed experiment.
<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v407/etoniichuan/?action=view¤t=IMG_1870.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v407/etoniichuan/IMG_1870.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Imagine what I could do with regular time off. Hopefully with a job in the future, my metal working will see some major improvent with some time to put into it.
A special thanks to Angusm0628, and some pictures

Nice CoP. Try and get pictures of you wearing it. Same for the leg armor in general.
The knees are decent. The usual "dish more and not so wide" advice applies here as well. The roundels are very flat. You will find they bend easity. You might consider making 2 more with a rolled edge and a slight dish or other compound shape to give them strength. The single copper rivet should be easy to pull out and should be replaces with a steel one instead.
You have time to make these upgrades though. They will look nice for quite some time.

Edit: Oh yeah. about the heraldry. Ever play Classic Battle-tech as house Steiner?

Right about the geekery, but wrong about the source.

I just liked the look of a mailed fist. I will try to get some decent pics of me in action wearing this gear.

*grins* I thought it was Imperial Fists based
COP looks good, can't tell it's ALU from the front.
Rondels really want to be dished deeper, same with the couters and the copper rivets on the rondels want to be swapped out for iron/steel.
