They have bacon band-aids... that would make cool helm "tape", for my household anyways. The thing is bacon is pretty much a Clovenshield exclusive trademark. If this happens I suspect it's going to involve more than just us...

... An evil looking raven plucking a gold coin out of the eye socket of a coronet helmed corpse might be better symbolism...

Yes, I went there...

A cornet huh... The bacon has corrupted your mind. Why would you be picking on fighting musicians?

nah it should be in solid gold, suspended magically above a marble pillar

I had hoped that real life would shape up to allow me to make this my first pennsic, and this announcement made that goal all the more desirable. Alas it now looks as though it is not to be, with real life conspiring instead to undo all of my carefully laid plans.

I can but hope that this becomes a tradition that will be carried on through many if not all future pennsics.

 I especially like the part where Kirk has Spock pinned, and Spock twists the polearm and smacks the cutting head against the pedestal, snapping it like peanut brittle. Why the hell would anyone even bother to make a polearm out of something that breakable?

I know, I'm picking nits, but stuff like that always bothered me about Star Trek. Don't get me wrong, I'm a die hard trekkie, but a little plausibility would have been nice once in a while.

You mean like in the episode where one of the cast members had to make a shotgun out of indigneous stuff in griffin park in LA?

yeah, or the one where Kirk had to make a primitive cannon to fight the Gorn on some alien planet. He used sulfur and some other stuff that was conveniently lying around on the ground to make gunpowder, a piece of hollow bamboo or something for a barrel and I think a lump of diamond or crystal or something, also conveniently lying around, for a cannon ball.

I have good gut feeling this is going to happen. I'm so glad Pennsic is a shoe in for me this year...
