Hjalmer Review
Well my zischagge from Hjalmer arrived just a few minutes ago.
I am exceptionally pleased. </:^)
Hjalmer was easy to get a hold of, fast in his responses. And willing to listen to the ideas I had on how i wanted it to fit/look.
Best of all, it even fits my odd shaped noggin with long nose without problems. Now I just gotta pad it.
I'll post pics here after exams are done.

ps: Any hints or tips on caring for this? I've heard 'sea bag with light coating of oil on the inside' for storage.

I can't protect you without holding a sword.
I can't embrace you while holding a sword.

Glad to hear you are happy with the helmet Dave. I always hold my breath and hope my customers are not upset at me for my crude attempt at armouring. Now I can breath a sigh of relief.
Thank you for your business and the chance to try something different....

You know Hjalmr, your "crude" style is part of its appeal to me. Armor ain't s'posed to be shiney! Well... at least you shouldn't be able to see yourself in it.

Well I'm just happy that everyone is happy -well except for the guy who bought stuff from pittbull armour. I'll be over on that thread if anyone needs me. Lol..................

I have opinions of my own- strong opinions- but I don't always agree with them.

Bear in mind that Nicholas has inherited my smile. It just looks odd. I was told my smile scared drill sergeants, from the drill sergeants who told me not to smile.
That's a good reason for a full-face for my helm.
But he is smiling on Christmas morning, and very happy!

He wore the helmet for almost 45 minutes and asked to take shots to the helm. The "bell" sound is loud and it will be wonderful for "touch kill" when we get to it due to the sound.
When I end up going to deploy again, I'll have two made so somebody and I can do sword-and-buckler work.
With thanks,

Hjalmr should just open his own online shop. Something catchy like Hjalmr Hjelms.
I seriously wish I had known about him when I first started in the SCA. Then maybe I wouldn't have gotten my first helm from Chivalry sports.
