Greathelm Ardian Empire Legal

Post by Edvard »

This is a greathelm I did for a guy in the Ardian Empire live steel group. They cannot have holes bigger than 3/4 of an inch in any direction. On this helm I just put perforated plates behind the eye slots. I was hoping to get some input or some pictures of Ardian Empire legal helms. I don't know if I will make anymore, but you never know. I would like to keep the classic helm look and not use perforated steel.

Looks spiffy, but paint the grill in the eyeslots black. It will look better, less like a solid face.

That's one of the nicer Adrian helms I've seen. My experience with them is that most are SCA helms that have been converted... a sheet of perf. steel welded in behind a SCA bargrill is just ugly.

I'd like to see some alternatives to perforated steel, myself. Saw a bargrill with vertical and horizontal bars in a grid with 3/4" openings.. looked like a hockey mask.

Thanks for the input. The painting idea sounds like a good thing to do, will try it out and post a pic.

Thanks
