Armour Porn
This was a complimation work from 2 armourers. Cad did the basic shell and visor w/ hinge. Clang added 'cheeks' to the shell so it would fit better, vervelles, attached the visor to the shell, and added the strap.
And the master armourer that i am ... i did the lining holes.
I am very pleased with this helm. It will be my new pride and joy. Time to throw away that old MacPhearson great helm.
Now all I have to do is get a nice riveted aventail to go along with it.

Cad didn't set me back too much about 400 bucks or so and it was worth every penny.
I got it mostly to copy it. I have a problem with seeing the 3D image while looking at just a pic. But I use extant pics to learn the differences between the actual item and the physical piece i am copying.
Maybe it sounds weird but i have to have be able to touch, feel and look up close at a piece before i can attempt it. So I try and buy nice pieces of armour to hold while I give my amature hand a try at the same.
My attempt at this same helm was, how shall i put this... pathetic. Size was wrong, eye holes not very even, wavy crease on visor, etc... But I learned a great deal about making armour. And my next attempt should be better.
Oh and the Black prince great helm by MacPhearson... yeah I threw it away. I threw it away right on top of my book shelf.
It hurt my heart to get hit in the head with it on. But it survived with no scratches and no dents.
