Bayeux Style Tapestry of CoTT

Some time ago I posted that my lady had taken up embroidery to immortalize a Couter of Chivalry deed between Master Magnus and Sir Alfred of Carlyle.

She has continued to work on her bayeux style work, and has just completed a second tapestry. This one was a scene from the Combat of the Thirty two years ago when Master Magnus, my squire brother Thaddeus and I encountered his Excellency Earl Brion Thornbird.

For this one she learned more correct embroidery stitches and almost all of the thread comes from a lady in our Barony who raises the sheep, sheers the wool, spins and dyes it.

Its fun being immortalized as a bayeux style warrior from deeds done in such a great contest of arms.

To twice be honored by being a subject in her work I can honestly say is one of the greatest honors I have recieved in the SCA.
The couter of Chivalry was such an important moment for me and to have her work above my desk where I look at it every day is simply most excellent.
To be invited to fight alongside Sir Keiran the following year in the 30 and to be rescued from capture by my peeps during an encounter with his Excellency Earl Brion, well it does not get much better.
Preserved in wool and linen among my friends doing what I love, wielding my "iron bar" how cool is that.
Your lady has "Mad Skillz" with needle and thread, if only some of the bruises she gave me would last as long

It was definitely of use, not just for the tapestry but in just remembering the day. After Pennsic that year, I was relating the story of our fight with Earl Brion to my knight and Thaddeus accused me of exaggerating. He was so oxygen deprived and pummeled after the 30 that he didn't remember how things had gone down. It wasn't until he saw your picture that his memory came back.

I honestly had no memory of this whatsoever.
I remember Brion capturing Adam and charging in to the rescue.
Sir George was there as well, I hit George once and he disappeared, then I turned on Brion at the same time as Eadric arrived.
Next thing I recall is marching away in a line with Brion as our captive.

Folks say its looks like I am kicking him to see if he is really dead.
Cant comment dont remember - might be so, and it might not.
