The belt is horsehide, one inch wide by about 49 inches long. No buckle at present and the tip is unfinished. Green dye, gold acrylic paint and the checks are tooled into the belt as well as dyed and painted.

The pouch is about 4 oz leather, with a single inside compartment. Handsewn with waxed linen thread. The top seam is laced with a fingerbraided cord made from waxed linen thread.

Belt, as is, $30. Pouch $40. Shipping additional.

Thank you for your consideration.

I don't need another belt at the moment (like "need" has anything to do with my addiction!), but it's very pretty- can you document the stamped and painted checky pattern to a particular period, or is it just your idea of a good artistic time?

Was a test run of an equerry (sp?) belt for a friend. A red and gold check is being used in the SCA for equestrian arts students - I think that's right, but not being into the SCA equestrian scene, I may well be missing something ;)

I haven't tried to document it since I had a request for something particular and was just fulfilling the request...
