Armourer´s mark : where to put it on ?

Post by Crows Anvil »

Hi there !

I just recieved my armourers-marks-stamp.

Image
It´s a crow sitting on an anvil.

But, where do I put it on, I mean, where ?
Are there some rules I have to follow ?

I want the helm I just finished to wear my first mark.

Any comments ?

That's too cool! Where did you get the stamp from?

For helms i usually put the mark on the bottom edge of the neck guard or integrated faceplate. And on the faceplate if it is removable. Arms on the rerbrace, legs on the quise or the cop if not having a quisse. For body protection somewhere on the inside near the short ribs. Basically somewhere that people will see it when you take it off or when another person handles it. That simple. I have a few helms made by others that have the stamp put on the back top part of the helm.

Have fun. Put it anywhere that it won't distract from the graceful forms of your work.

I agree with James. anywhere that looks nice, and not to obtrusive. Like I would not put mine on the nasal of a spangen. I like the back right lower panel. ffolks's book has armour marks shown well.

Hey something else cool you can do; is to make key fobs with it.

I bet everything is stamped as far as you can see now....Just kidding.
