I've been looking for the article on the Harbour Freight Beverly knock-off, but can't find it. Does someone know where it's hidden?
My union just decided to strike, so I decided this would be the ideal time to finally start doing some armouring at home. If I can get shears to do what I need (cut 18ga stainless), an angle grinder, a dishing stump, and a couple stakes, I should be able to get a good start. I was thinking of trying to make a few pairs of gauntlets - hopefully pay for the tools and give me some extra cash for luxuries like food...
Thanks!
Kalba

I also have a copy of this article on my webpage. I put it up not only to have more than one copy, but because easyspace has pop-ups.

<B>Thanks, Padrig and Goon! Does anyone have any info on cutting capacity? I.e., will I have any real trouble with 18ga stainless? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to risk using 16ga...
Thanks again!

I actually asked a Harbor Freight customer support rep what the published specs were for cutting capacity. They only rate it for 18 gauge mild. What does this mean? It'll cut other stuff, I know people use it for a lot more than that, but as far as "official" capacity it's 18 gauge.
