Anyone know if they are legal? And if these particular ones are good?

They look nice. If the specs are to be believed, they should be legal...

slightly concerned about the thumb. that look solid to you?

It looks legal. It doesn't look like something I would trust my thumb in. But I'm more cautious than many.

From the pic they look legal. As long as they either ground out on rattan OR you pad them they should be fine.

The thumb is no worse than the thumbs on SCA legal finger gauntlets. Most certainly you will need to pad it.
