Just wanted to say that I've had spaulders and a cuirass done by Magnus and his rates are fantastic, his tooling is exceptional, and he provides top notch customer service (especially considering the volume of correspondance I had with him, and he responded very timely and to every request and inquiry).

I definately give him two thumbs up and recommend his work!

Might be missing something... not sure I understand.

If you mean it's on every post I make, that's a good idea. But having the price list show up in the forum as a price list would probably get more attention than my signature.

Magnus
I have been drooling over you arms for some time now but I have some concerns. Could you give me some idea of what method you use to harden the leather? I have been fighting in wax (50/50 paraffin and bee’s wax) hardened leather 10+ years. I love the fact that waxed leather is easy to maintain but I live in the south and I am tired of them softening up and deforming in the summer.

Dose any one have experience with these in the hot humid areas?

I'm not sure, I haven't gotten any complaints back yet but I'm not sure how far south my stuff has made it.

If you don’t mind me asking do you just use straight wax? Do you have any idea how hot it has to get before it starts getting soft? My 50/50 mix can’t handle over about 85- 90 deg. I have heard of other that using different mixes/methods which don’t soften up but I prefer your design.

My mix sits around 50/50 though it does fluctuate a bit and I submerge everything in molten wax for 2 minutes or so

Just to weigh in on this topic. I have only been fighting for about a year and a half and I have the privilege to Know Magnus up here in Lions Gate. I have a set of his arms and I love wearing them. The bruises on my elbows and forearms were gone the first night I wore them. Not only that they are comfortable and seemingly weightless (to me at least)

Dealing with Magnus when ordering them was quick, easy and painless. He answered any and all of my many questions and I received them very quickly (within 2 weeks or less if memory serves).

Its unfortunate for everyone else I order from as he has set a very high standard of customer service. I will be ordering more as funds become available.

As far as heat softening this armor- I've seen no evidence of it. My experience with my breastplate is limited to Aethelmearc War Practice and Pennsic last year,, but it got pretty warm, inside and out, and was absolutely rigid. I love this armor, and when I get home I'm going to attach my new articulated spaulders, which are awsesome, and jump back in the fray! And customer service? Perfect.

Absolutely the best gorget I have ever had. It is what I wear all the time now. Fit is perfect, comfort is great, it is also easy to put on and remove by myself.

Magnus, thanks for the great product.
